'Aayirathi Oruvan' was the outcome of a three year hard work vested in by its team members. The first appreciation should go to the team for daring to experiment a new genre movie in Kollywood. The work of the team was much applauded though they had to face harsh criticisms as well from some others in the industry. The movie has Karthi in his most expressible form. The sudden reactions that were demanded from him in certain scenes of the movie came out so naturally that it seems to be a fit comment that the super star made about Karthi's performance. The super star had expressed concern that the talent of Karthi should be made used in the industry in the best manner. Karthi appears as a rural worker,Sukumaran, in the movie and does an excellent work all through out.
The movie centres around the efforts of an archeological team who sets out for an expedition. As their work progresses, the team happens to discover an ethnic tamil group that stayed under cover from the outside world. The group is lead by a king and the people are shattered by utter poverty and low living standard. Parthiban, who acts as the king of the ethnic group puts up a performance in such a way that he was tailor made for the role.

The lead actresses of the movie are Reema Sen and Andrea Jeremiah. Both of them appears as the leaders of the research team and puts up a commendable performnace through out the movie. Reema, though away from the kollywood sets for a long time could well manage to gloss up the screen. The graphics of the movie was commendable though not fully devoid of flaws. The movie was also noted for being the first Selvaraghavan movie without Yuvan's music. However, G V Prakash has well attempted to mitigate the void. The cinematography is another noted aspect of the movie. Though loaded with a lot of criticism, the movie is said to have created a good response from the kollywood audience. |
