Indian emigrants safe in Dubai - Vayalar Ravi  [Saturday, November 28, 2009]
   
 

                            Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi said that there should not be any worries about the Indian emigrants in Dubai that they would lose their jobs following finanacial crisis.The Union minister said that it was only one of the many vagaries of the market that stirred the panic. This should not mean that the Indian workers are at a threat of losing jobs. “We are not worried. My information from Indian associations, the Consulate and ambassador is that there is nothing to worry.” He added that “[for] one day, the Indian stock market made a show [as if] everything is over.”said Mr Vayalar Ravi after visiting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at the secretariat. The minister said that  of the One lakh workers who came back home due to the financial crisis, a good majority has got back and has resumed their jobs.He also added that the government was attempting to frame a law that would make passport application process more simple so that the commoners would not be suffering at the hands of fraud agencies.
