Heavy rains slashed parts of Kanyakumari district for the second day on thursday bringing joy to the farming community. The fishermen restricted themselves from travelling to the sea consecutively for the third day and the sea water entered more than 40 houses in eight villages  between Erayammanthurai and Neerodi. Thunder struck more than five houses in Poothurai and Vallavilai coastal villages.
