Judges failing to declare their assets would be deemed to be misconduct [Sunday, July 26, 2009]
The Chief Justice of India, Justice K G Balakrishnan said that the judges of the higher judiciary failing to declare their assets or providing a false declaration would be deemed to be misconduct. And misconduct is one of the grounds to remove a judge. Justice Balakrishnan also said that the judges in general have welcomed the proposition and said that the assets of not only the judges, but also their dependants would be declared under the new bill.
