The Madurai Dindigul railway line was thrown open on Thursday. Talking to news persons, Additional Railway General Manager V Carmalus said that the trains were being operated at 70 km per hour since Monday,and the speed would be increased to 90 KM per hour. Simultaneously,electrification work of the tracks between Dindigul and Madurai had been started.Electrification of Tiruchi-Villupuram sector had already been completed,he said.
