TN steps up vigil against spread of swine flu  [Tuesday, August 11, 2009]

Just a day after the first swine flu case was reported in Tamil Nadu, the state government stepped up its preventive measures to contain the spread of the deadly disease. The State government is setting up flu testing centres in major towns like Madurai, Coimbatore, and Tirunelveli. This will be in addition to the two centres that are already in Vellore and Chennai. The State government is also trying to rope in private hospitals to treat the affected people. The hospitals will also have a quarantine ward for the afflicted people.
