State urges universities to introduce mark normalisation scheme [Wednesday, January 28, 2009]
The State government have asked all the universities to delay their first semester examination results to introduce a new mark normalisation scheme. The Vice Chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education said that the mark system requires a change to reflect the new Choice Based Credit System which is to be introduced this year. " Earlier a student scoring 40% would just be given 40 marks. Now if the top student in the class scores 86, that will become the base. That will be treated as 100."
