The Chennai Corporation plans to appoint a consultant to evaluate restoration of several acres of land now being used as  garbage dump sites. The solid waste processing facility proposed at Perungudi would take up 30 acres as per the corporation records. Another 170 acres of the dumping site would have to be restored by the corporation and this area would be studied by the consultant in two months.
