The past 48 hours have witnessed fresh fires of varying intensities in the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. The fires occured in different places inside the Nagarahole and Bandipur National Parks of Karnataka, the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve of Tamil Nadu and Wayanad Wild Life Sanctuary of Kerala. The satellite data also showed fires at few places in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and Bandipur National Park.
