Left will resume ties with UPA - Thankabalu [Sunday, March 1, 2009]
K V Thangkabalu on Saturday expressed belief that the left which withdrew support to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) over the nuclear deal would resume partnership with UPA in a post-poll scenario. Addressing the reporters in relation to Ghulam Nabi Azad's visit to Chennai on March 2nd, Thangkabalu predicted that the resumption of ties would materialise as the creation of a third front would remain as a pipe dream. Mr Thankabalu said that the leadership of both parties shared friendly ties .“They have been good to us and we have been good to them in spite of being on opposite camps in a few States such as West Bengal and Kerala.”
