Madras High Court to take up cases for hearing [Monday, March 16, 2009]
As per the Madras High Court direction, notices have been pasted on the combined court premises informing that presiding officers of all courts and tribunals will take up cases for hearing and decide the same on merits from March 16. In the event of non-availability of lawyers in criminal matters, either the lawyers from the panel of amicus curiae or those included in the panel of the Legal Services Committee would be requested to appear for the accused or notice would be sent to the accused, who were either on bail or in jail, that they should make alternate arrangements to represent them in their cases.
