Sankara eye care institutions has been adjudged as the 'Number one NGO in India'for its excellent contributions in the field of eye care. R.V. Ramani, Founder and Managing Trustee of the institutions received the award, carrying a citation and cash amount of Rs 4 lakhs, from Sayeeda Hammed, Member Planning Commission at a recently held function in Delhi.
