President gives away the 55th National Film Awards [Wednesday, October 21, 2009]
The President of India, Mrs Prathibha Patil gave away the 55th National Film Awards in New Delhi. The function will see numerous talented artists of the indian film industry being honoured with the award. Prakash Raj and Adoor Gopalakrishnan will be two among them from South India. Prakash Raj bagged the award for his outstanding performance in the film Kancheevaram and Adoor Goplakrishnan was homoured withe award for his film 'Nalu Pennungal'. “I am on cloud nine. It is a honour to be honoured by the President of India.” For Priyadarshan, the award would motivate him to make more such meaningful movies in the future", said the all happy actor Prakash Raj before the award function.
