Veteran singer S P Balasubramaniam was choosen to be the recepient of the P Susheela National Award that will be conferred on him on November 14th, 2009. The award will be presented by Dr P Susheela Trust. Declaring the award for SPB, Mrs Sushella said “'SPB is a bundle of talent. I had the good fortune of singing several songs with him. He has rendered more than 40,000 songs in most Indian languages and the selection committee which includes singers Balasaraswathy, Jamuna Rani and actress Jamuna chose him unanimously.”The award function will be accompanied by a grand music function and the proceeds from the fund are decided by the trust to be handed over to the Andhra government for flood relief.
