Court restrains release of Goa [Wednesday, December 2, 2009]
The release of the flick titled 'Goa' produced by Ocher studios owned by Soundarya Rajanikath is at a stand still as the Madras High Court restrained its release based on an injunction filed to it. The injunction was filed with the allegation that the owner of the production house, Soundarya Rajanikanth failed to repay Rs 1.6 crore that was borrowed for the film to NAPC Properties Managing Director Varun Manian. However, the owners of the production house including Soundarya was shocked about the suit and they say that they were not aware of the suit against them. However, in their reply to the case, the sources from the production house accepted the contention that they have borrowed money and said that the borrowed amount would be repaid back promptly. They also added that the film release will not be affected because of this as it is scheduled for release only on January 2010.
