Margazhi Ragam, a good way to take carnatic music to the public - US Consul General [Monday, December 7, 2009]
The DVD of the film based on Karnatic music, titled 'Margazhi Raagam' was released on Sunday by US Consul General Andrew T Simkin in the presence of other dignitaries. The first copy was received by Mani Ratnam from Mr Simkin. Mr Simkin who was all praises for the film said that the film had an exceptional quality and technology in the lines of the ultra modern films. He also added that such a feature film was a good and easy way to take carnatic music out to the public. “The latest technology used in the film has made it on a par with any digital films. With exceptional clarity and impressive performance of the singers, the film stands out for its innovation and musical richness.”said he.
