The AIADMK General Secretary Jayalalitha on monday reported to the assembly that the ruling DMK was pushing the state to bankruptcy by pursuing wrong economic policies.Jayalalitha said that there was huge shortage of the revenues of the state and that the problems of price rise and unemployment were giving rise to constant threat. She even made a comparison of the revenue estimates at the times of AIADMK and said that the growth rates of annual GDP has gone down to 4.41 per cent from 11.45 percent during her party's regime. She also noted that the existing debt was as high as Rs 90,000 crore and that the annual interest payment amounted to Rs 20 crores. She also blamed the schemes of the government like distribution of free commodities, televisions etc which costs the exchequer greatly.
