Grammy compensates for Oscars  [Wednesday, February 3, 2010]

The only nomination from India at the Oscars was yet another composition by A R Rahman , the score 'Na... Na...', from the hollywood flick 'Couple's Retreat'. However the song failed to win a nomination in the 'best original song' category  and there by pulled down all hopes of another Oscar for India. The song was pushed behing by compositions from other flicks like 'The Princess and the Frog' by Randy Newman); ‘Down in New Orleans...’ (‘The Princess and the Frog’ by Newman); ‘Loin de Paname...’ (‘Paris 36’ by Reinhardt Wagner and Frank Thomas); ‘Take it all...’ (‘Nine’ by Maury Yeston) and ‘The weary kind...’ (‘Crazy Heart’ by Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett).

But why lament? The Mozart of Madras has bagged two golden Grammy awards for us...Cheer up guys...!!
