Cadres of a pro tamil group from the state allegedly attacked the residence of kollywood star Jayaram over his comments in a mollywood tv channel about his tamil domestic help at chennai. The gang damaged the furniture in the house and inflicted damages to his car. Police who were posted near the house chased eight accused. The attack came after the actor apologised for his comment making it clear that he had done the same in a lighter vein. However, the issue is expected to have a greater longevity after an advocate from Chennai filed a complaint before the magistrate court in Egmore against the actor. A Indirani, as was identified from reliable sources alleged that the actor refused to give clarification when a Tamil magazine asked him to do so. The complaint also alleged that he only said that his comment was made in a lighter vein without any regret for what he said.
