Mani Ratnam's Raavan budget crossed a whopping Rs 55 crores since the start of shooting last year. The movie is being produced by Mani Ratnam's home productions and the director was very particular of every minute detail. He was not willing for any compromises. The movie which is a bilingual was shot in Pollachi and the forests of Kerala. The team had erected huge sets for the shooting of the movie and the sets were destroyed in the heavy rains. The producer had to pool in a lot of money to re erect the sets and this is also expected to have added on to the total cost. However, there has been no news yet on the release of the movie. Seems like the waiting is to continue for the movie to finally hit the screens.
