The AIADMK MLA from Jayankondan assembly constituency was removed from the post by party after the MLA met Chief Minister M Karunanidhi reportedly to represent the requirements and problems of the people of his constituency. Mr Rajendran said that he does not choose to remain as a puppet legislator and that the people of his constituency wanted him to ensure that their basic amenities are sufficiently provided. He said that he has requested the Chief Minister to widen the Tiruchi-Chidambaram bridge and build a bus terminus in Jayankondan to the convenience of the people.
