The changing face of Indian heroines  [Tuesday, March 16, 2010]

Bollywood star Asin Thottungal had a great day at the 'India Today Conclave 2010'. The actress reflected her in depth understanding about cinema through her speech on 'Reality Vs Idealism' in movies. Asin shared the dias with stalwarts of film industry like James cameroon, Amir Khan, etc. The conclave was also marked by the presence of  Dubai Royalty Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram, Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal, CEO Ford Motor Co. Alan Mulally, Co-Founder of Facebook Chris Hughes, Author Salman Rushdie, Yoga Expert Swami Ramdev and Ranbir Kapoor. Asin was later appreciated for her vision by director James Cameroon. Asin's speech and previously reported Shriya Saran's speech at the IIM all reflect the changing perspectives about an actress in films. She is no more a pretty thing as she was perceived previously, but a personality that is looked upon by the society to enrich its knowledge bank even outside the bounds of filmdom. Thumbs up for our beauties with brains...!!
