Kollywood actor and politician Vijayakanth who is awaiting the results of Pennagaram by polls said that his first directorial venture, 'Virudhagiri' will become a great hit.

He was speaking at the audio launch of 'Goripalayam', directed by Rasu Madhuravan. The producer of the film, Michael Rayappan is a close associate of Vijayakanth. The actor had managed to smoothly direct 'Virudhagiri' even as his poll campaign actively demanded his presence.

Regarding the flick 'Goripalayam', the actor said that all films that was centered around Madurai has always turned out to be a hit and Goripalayam would also confirm to the trendz. “I know Rasu Madhuravan right from the days he was working as an associate to Manivannan. He is a hard worker. All films centred in Madurai have become hits. ‘Goripalayam’ too will prove it.”said the actor.
