TFPC hails Chief Minister [Tuesday, April 27, 2010]
The Tamil Film Producers Council hailed the works of the Chief MInister M Karunanidhi and addressed him as a living legend. The chief minister donated his remuneration of Rs 45 lakhs to the board that was constituted for the welfare of differently abled persons. The remuneration was for penning the script of 'Illaignan'. “This is not the first time for the Chief Minister to donate the salary he received for working in films. The payments from ‘Mannin Maindhan’ and ‘Uliyin Osai’ were given to workers in the film industry.” said the TFPC President Rama Narayanan. “And now, Kalaignar has come forward to donate the remuneration from ‘Ilaignan’ to the board for the welfare of the differently abled. This shows his kind-heartedness. He is a living Valluvar, a legend beyond comparison.The TFPC wants the Chief Minister to continue his services in the film industry for more than 100 years from now.” said the president.
