The Madras High court dismissed a case against actor Kamal Hasan that he had stolen the story of Dasavatharam from another director. The order was passed by Justice Regupathy who said that the petiton filedby assistant director Senthilkumar was untrue.

The government advocate for the case reported that the inspector level enquiry on the allegation proved that it was untrue. The judge who recorded the advocate's report closed the case without passing orders. Dasavatharam which turned out to be one of the hits of Kamal Hasan hit the screens on mid 2008.
