Veteran kollywood music director Illayaraja has rejected the request of his sons to celebrate his 67th birthday. Yuvan Shankar Raja who wanted to hold a grand party for the music maestro on June 3rd had plans to invite all lead colleagues and other personalities of kollywood including A R Rahman.

However, with an outright 'No' from his dad, Yuvan is left preplexed. Sources said that Illayaraja's wife could also not convince the music director. It is heard that Illayaraja will spend his birthday in Thiruannamalai. However, his family members are still hoping that he will change his mind regarding his birthday celebrations.
