Tamil Nadu theatre owners demand compensation from Vijay [Friday, May 28, 2010]
The Tamil Nadu theatre owners association has threatened to boycott the movies of Vijay after incurring huge losses from his just released Sura. They urged that the actor should compensate them for the losses incurred without which they would boycott his films. The office bearers of the association said that an emergency meeting was called taking into account the continuous failure of his flicks and the general financial hardships of the theatre owners. "the continued poor performance of films starring Vijay and the hardship and financial losses faced by exhibitors and theatre-owners forced us to convene an emergency meeting. We purchased ‘Sura’ for a huge price. But its not-so impressive performance meant a loss of over 60 per cent for us.We wish Vijay understands our difficulties and helps us out." said Paneerselvam, an office bearer of the association.
