Kollywood actress Genelia denied reports from a section of media that she went to Srilanka to attend the IIFA. She clarified that she had not attended the programme which was against the sentimence of the tamils. Genelia said that she valued the sentimence of the tamils and said that she absented herself to support the tamil cause.

The actress was seen in kollywood lately after a long break during which she was busy with her projects in Bollywood and tollywood. She is currently at the sets of Uthamaputhiran in which she is donning the lead role with Dhanush. This would be her reentry into kollywood flicks after a long gap since Santhosh Subramaniyam.
