AIFEC reforms for bridging wage gaps [Tuesday, June 15, 2010]
The meeting of the All India Film Employees Confederation (AIFEC) that met in chennai decided to immediate welfare measures that would benefit the technicians and the crew. The apex body has decided to fix a common wage scale and enforce standard working hours for the crew. AIFEC president V C Guhanathan said that a 10 percent hike will be given to the salaries of all crew members. The joint secretary of IFEC , Aparna Ghatak said that there was a huge variation in the wages given to the junior artists and the crew. She said that the divide should be bridged soon with a compensating hike.
