50 years of talent show casing - Ulaganayakan ready for more  [Monday, July 5, 2010]
   
 

 Kollywood actor Kamal Hasan said that the best decade of his career would be the upcoming one. He was speaking at a conference organized by the Directorate of Film Festivals at the Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi. The conference was organized to felicitate the acting legends 50 years in Indian cinema.

"This journey seems very short because I felt I had lot of time. I think I've been very lucky with my teachers or gurus. Literally, they've been my gurus; it's not about working under somebody hence calling him guru instead of your boss. They were gurus," , said the actor.

The conference was attended by numeorus popular faces in Indian film industry. Union Information and Brodcasting minister Ambika Soni who was present at the function said that Kamal Hasan's characters have enabled India to don a 'pan Indian phenomenon' by bringing together audience from diverse backgrounds.

"Some of the character portrayals left a deep imprint across all generations. His multilingual cinematic versatility ensured a fan following reiterating his mass appeal and acceptance of his cinema as a unique artistic expression.", said Mrs Soni.

Despite the age factor, Kamal continues to entertain his audience by doning comical roles as in Vasool Raja MBBS to ultra serious roles as in Unnaipol Oruvan. With multiple talents that extents to script writing,direction, dubbing etc, the actor contributes more and more to the film industry,and the audience through each of his noval flicks. Let us acknowledge this ever green talent and hope for more characters to be born to live forever through his matchless acting.
