Kollywood actress Asin became the first ever actress from the south to visit Srilanka after the terrific war in the island nation that claimed the lives of many. She is also the first kollwood star to visit Srilanka since the past 30 years. Asin visited Jaffna and took part in the programmes of an eye treatment centre in  Jaffna. Asin seem to be focused in making the trips as she said, she wanted to be spreading the message of peace to the inhabitants of the war torn island nation.

Though Asin's visit has been publicised through the world media, the response of the Kollywood film industry to the same still remains undisclosed.
