The construction work of the housing zone for film industry employees is scheduled to begin on August 22. The function will be a grand one and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will lay the foundation stone. The housing zone will come up in Paiyanur where 110 acres of land has been allotted by the government. The function will be attended by all top shots of kollywood and tamil nadu politics. The government is planning to complete the construction work in about a year after which the residences shall be allotted to the film industry workers. The housing zone will have all modern facilities, a school, hospital, super markets and other infrastructures.
