Rahman's composition comes under criticism [Saturday, September 11, 2010]
Academy award winning musician A R Rahman has come under great criticism for his latest composition for the Common Wealth Games, 2010, that will be held in Delhi. The Group of Ministers and audience were not fully impressed with the song. A number of the artists who performed for the song said that it was difficult to perform to the tune. The audience and the fans were also not appreciative of the fact that the music director claimed a compensation of Rs 5 crore for composing the song. The music director is reworking on the song giving weightage to the suggestions. Meanwhile, popular Pop singer Dalar Mehndi came up with a new CWG composition with traditional punjabi beats. The song has a Dhol beats throughout as BGM. Dalar's claim that he is composing the song for free also came as an open challenge to Rahman. However, Indian sports minister and the group of ministers refused to comment on both the songs. Hopefully, the Mozart will clear up the air with his magical musical touch.
