Kollywood actor's association, Nadigar Sangam condemned the violence against actress Anjali and director Vadivudayan. The incident happened when the team was shooting for Thambi Vettothi Sundaram. The violence was launched by a group of people who felt that the flick would tarnish the image of Thambi Vettothi Sundaram, who belongs to the nadar community. In their reply, Nadigar Sangam condemned the attack and also insisted that the director should not picture Vettothi Sundaram in a bad light in the flick.
