Ace Kollywood director Maniratnam, who is all busy doing the ground works of his upcoming project, Ponniyin Selvan has opened himself to suggestions from all sides. Since the film is set on a historical background the director found it essential to have a herd of horses. The director enquired with Kamal Hassan as he had imported horses from France for his flick, Maruthanayagam. Offering his help to the same, Kamal suggested dealers in France whom Maniratnam would approach for the horses. Kamal also suggested Maniratnam  to have two of his best men who worked in the script of ‘Maruthanayagam’ to assist him in the project.The shooting of Ponniyin Selvan is expected to go on floors by the beginning of April.
