National award winning director Bala said that he is quite positive about the response that Avan Ivan will create after its release. The director had taken a final copy of the flick to his mentor Balu Mahendra and his wife Mrs Akila. Director Balu said that he will only see the movie among a group of audience when it officially hits the screens.

Mrs Akila Mahendra who went ahead to see the flick said that she was quite impressed with the movie. "Mrs. Akila, who was in splits throughout the film but for the last couple of scenes which saw tears streaming down her eyes.", close sources said. Avan Ivan is an unusual venture of Bala. This would be the first commercial project of the director. It has Arya and Vishal in lead roles.
