Ace kollywood actress Shriya Saran has been roped in to play the female lead in the flick 'Saguni' which will have Karthi donning the lead. The Saguni team was hunting for the perfect female lead for the flick after which they decided to rope in Shriya.

Shriya's career has been trending downward with the bad response to ‘Kutty,’ ‘Jaggubhai,’ ‘Uthamaputhiran’ (cameo role) and ‘Chikku Bhukku’ in the box office. The actress has now changed her usual style and has become more choosy in selecting projects. Shriya has signed up for Rowthiram which will have ace kollywood actor Jeeva donning the lead. Saguni is another top project in her kitty.
