Members of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) staged a protest demanding a hike in wages of daily workers. Sources reported that the members were striking to consider a long term plea for wage hike. The employees also said that they were facing much trouble due to the hike in price of essential commodities and food articles.

"A hike in the wages was pending for a longtime now. However, despite our innumerable requests, the federation is not taking care of our interests. We demand immediate intervention of president V C Guhanathan.", said the protesters. Around 10,000 members of the total 23,000 are daily workers who includes stunt and make up artists. FEFSI President Guhanathan assured that the request for wage hike will be taken up for consideration without delay.
