Kollywood actress Vijayalakshmi has been roped in to play the female lead in 'Vana Yudham', a flick based on sandalwood smuggler Veerappan. The actress is popular in kollywood through flicks like Anjathey and Chennai 600028. She will play the wife of Kishore, who will appear as Veerappan.

The flick will be simultaneously made in Kannada and Tamil. Actress Priyamani was approached to play the role, but she refused to act because of personal reasons. The shooting of the flick will go on floors without delay.
