| Kollywood requests state government for concessions [Wednesday, September 21, 2011] |

The joint meeting of Tamil Film Producers Council, Tamil Directors Association, Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association and South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce decided to request the state government to do away with the 30 percent Corporation and 20 percent other taxes with a single tax of 10 percent on all theatres.
It also urged the government to allow theatre owners to fix ticket prices on their own during the first two weeks of the release of films. The joint meeting was attended by president in-charge of Tamil Film Producers Council SA Chandrasekaran, Directors Association vice president Cheran, Theatre Owners Association chief Annamalai and Film Chamber secretary L Suresh among others.
