Senior film maker Bharathiraja will lead a demonstration involving Tamil film artistes in Chennai on Sunday urging the Union government to immediately deploy CISF protection to the Mullaiperiyar dam, which has of late fuelled tension between Tamil Nadu and Kerala.Speaking to the press about the controversy, the director said how the dam had benefited the district and farmers were able to turn dry land into fertile fields. The protest planned at Marina will demand arrest of persons who had allegedly attacked Tamils in Kerala in a fallout of the controversy and ensuring Tamil Nadu's rights over the dam.
