Ace director Bla who is known for his flicks have choosen  Uma Riyaz to play Atharva's mother in the flick 'Eriyum Thanal'. "I would have sure denied playing the protagonist's mom if the offer was from someone else. Since it is Bala, who is one of the great filmmakers of the industry, I have sought time from him to take a decision," says the 39-year-old actress. Uma had acted as a pregnant police officer in the Arulnidhi starrer. She was much appreciated for her role in the flick. "Many from Kollywood appreciated me for my Mounaguru character. At this point of time, I would like to recall the encouraging words of Kamal Haasan when I worked with him for Anbe Sivam. But unfortunately, most of my scenes in that movie were chopped during editing," she says.
