The much talked about controversy regarding the relationship between Indian star Sania Mirza and Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik came to and end on wednesday as the cricketer suceeded in working out a compromise with Ayesha Siddiqui with whom he was rumoured to have a marital contract. As per the compromise, the cricketer will divorce Ms Siddiqui who hails from Hyderabad and she in turn will withdraw the police complaint against the cricketer. There after Malik will marry Sania Mirza on April 15.

The compromise was struck at the presence of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Abid Rasool Khan. “We have been working for this compromise for the last four to five days without making much noise. And on the advice of the elders in the community, both the families agreed to abide their viewpoint to ensure that things don't drift to a point of no return,” “There were no conditions set by either of the two families before arriving at this compromise,” said Mr Khan about the compromise.
