Touring srilankan cricket team injured by terrorist in Lahore [Tuesday, March 3, 2009]
Almost 12 armed terrorist with rifles and rocket launchers attacked the touring Srilankan cricket team as they were on their way to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The terrorist killed five escorting police men and injured six players and two of them sustained bullet injuries. The Srilankan government called off the tour immediately after the attack. Kumar Sangakkara, Ajantha Mendis, Thilan Samaraweera and Tharanga Paranavitana were the injured players.The team was later airlifted to Srilanka.
