A twenty year old woman was hospitalised on monday as  a youth poured acid on her face at her home in Adambakkam. The woman who was identified as T Deepa was working as a compere for Dooradarshan and was staying with her mother and younger sister. The youth who knocked the door on monday afternoon introduced himself as from a courier company and gave Deepa a letter. While Deepa was reading the letter, the youth opened a bottle containing the acid and poured it on the face of Deepa. Deepa was later admitted to a private hospital and after first aid was taken to Burns ward of Kilpauk Medical College. Adambakkam police who received the complaint registered case late in the evening.
