The Vice Chairman of State Planning Commission, M Naganathan said on wednesday that the state was doing well in many areas such as school education, primary health etc. He was speaking at a public function in Chennai. “Our State is one of the few to offer quality education free even at the collegiate level. Tamil Nadu is also doing remarkably well in school education.” said the vice chairman. He said that the recent programme of the government for standard school education, 'Samacheer Kalvi', was a revolution in the history of the state. He said that the improving indicators such as the life expectancy,sanitation, poverty levels, literacy etc pointed hands to the all round development that the state is currently pursuing.
