IMF sells $6.7 billion to India  [Tuesday, November 3, 2009]
   
 

                                     The International Monetray Fund sold $6.7 billion worth of gold to boost its own cash reserves. The IMF release said that it has released 200 metric tonnes of gold to India's centraal bank, RBI. The executive board of the IMF has decided to sell a total of one eighth of the total gold reserves with it. Dominiaue Strauss khan said that the sale was an important step to secure the finances of the fund and to boost its lending to the poorer countries.
