A maxi-cab rammed an empty lorry on the by-pass road leaving four persons dead and four others injured in Irugur. The maxi-cab was dragged by the lorry for about 2 km's . The lorry driver who was not aware of this was later informed by the other drivers. The police reported that three of the victims were civil engineers from Dubai. Samir Ibrahim(23), Sabir Hamsa(23), Arshad(22), and Hadiq(22) were the four who were killed. The injured were admitted to the Kovai medical centre.
