The state government and the local authorities have geared up to face the cyclone which was earlier warned in the Nagapattinam coast by the meterological department. The 120 members of the  Anti Disaster Task Force has arrived to Arakkonam and the fisheries department has issued warnings to the coastal community. The medical department has ordered for the joining in of para medics and doctors and have also started stocking Cholera drugs. The Civil Supplies corporation is stocking food grains and steps are also taken to ensure availability of safe drinking water.
