The meteorology department has predicted heavy rains in tamil nadu the coming week. The cyclonic system has changed into a low pressure area over the Gulf of Mannar and so heavy rains are most likely in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Fishermen were warned not to go into the sea. Many parts of the city and interior areas experienced heavy rains this week and the maximum rainfall was recorded in Mayiladuthurai in Nagapattinam district.
